The switch has been flicked on what has been labelled one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest rooftop solar PV systems with Queensland government-owned Yurika announcing an almost 5MW system installed atop the Logan Hyperdome Shopping Centre is now operational, delivered by NG/E.
NG/E installed 4.93MW of solar PV on the roof of the Hyperdome Shopping Centre at Loganholme in the state’s south-east, which has commenced generating enough renewable energy to power more than 1,000 homes.
“The technology will reduce Hyperdome’s carbon emissions by 6,050 tonnes of CO2 annually, which is the equivalent of removing 2,800 passenger vehicles from our roads each year.”
