Scope of works

Design, supply, installation, commissioning & maintenance of a 2.9MW solar farm with 1MWh battery storage that will power 5 remote communities located in the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands. Scope also includes HV works, telemetry and SCADA upgrades.

Results

  • One of South Australia's largest off-grid systems.
  • Challenging logistic considerations and desert conditions to overcome, 16 hours from Adelaide (1,424km) and 6 hours from Alice Springs (480km).
  • 40% of the total power generated on-site will be using solar and the BESS, saving approximately 1 million litres of diesel (estimated at $1.2m) a year.
  • NG/E committed to engaging with local indigenous business to deliver 30% of the on-site labour hours in project's delivery.
